Choclate Bar Ep

After several huge singles, and a planned album, with Love Monk, Space Ranger returns to Plimsoll and Grande Buffo Records (Vinyl: Plimsoll005/ Digital GB7009-5) with 4 disco boogie house burners. Not really edits, but diced up loops and breaks from the trio's deep record collection reworked with synths, drums, and deft studio magic.
"CHOCOLATE BAR" kicks things off, featuring heavy drums and bass from the classic BAR-KAYS cut "HOLY GHOST, but retrofitted with builds and drops to get a dance floor pumping. Rounding out the A-side is "COSTA VERDE" with it's simmering disco drums building until some funky sax loops drop in to make everyone feel alright.
The B-side features two versions of "CRYSTAL COFFEE" which is built from chopped up sections of DC LA RUE's classic "CATHEDRALS". One keeps it raw, letting the samples speak for themselves and should appeal to fans of the edit sound. While the second version sprinkles the samples over a backdrop of deep synth pads, that make it a perfect match with current nu-disco or cosmic disco tracks.

�Message In Our Music�- such is the name of a song by Philly Soul group The O�Jays. But it could also be the album�s motif by the four Stuttgart DJs and producers of Dublex Inc. the album�s title, turned out to be a classic soul album, transporting a message. Soulful sounds whose protagonists nowadays are called Amy Winehouse, Raphael Saadiq or Duffy are dominating the clubs and stages worldwide - soul music connects them all. However, the reason for the four of them to record a soul album wasn�t the hipness factor . Dublex Inc. want to tread new paths, want to convey a message, want to be authentic. They reinvented themselves on the way - just like a phoenix rising out of the ashes.

"The Game", Dublex Inc.�s second single release from their new album "Phoenix" is a typical "torch song". Ashley Slater who created the band Freak Power together with Norman Cook aka Fatboy Slim, which wrote chart history back in the 1990s with their hit "Turn In, Turn Out, Cop Out". lends the song its distinct Dub feel and mood with his trombone and voice - which the legendary Specials couldn�t have gotten done better.

Dublex Inc. have previously released a version of "The Game" on vinyl back in 2006. But they were never completely satisfied with their version, and decided to overwork the song in its entirety.

They were able to score their deejay friends and colleagues TM Juke (UK) and Boozoo Bajou for remixes. TM Juke is also known as producer and guitarist of Alice Russell, while also releasing his own material on UK�s hip label Tru Thoughts. His remix catapults the track directly into Rock Steady straights and onto the dance floor.

Nuernberg producers Bazoo Bajou refine the track with their remix in their own, relaxed way and lure us onto this freshly made sofa into the deeper stratas of ?the Bavarian? Soul.
